Conservation & Development

Our Tourism concept is based on sustainable development of the environment and integrating the surrounding communities in the conservation of the much-endangered flora and fauna of the Avatime Mountains.
The fringing forest is also home to primates and several antelope species. With participation of local people, we are helping to protect the area's endangered wildlife.

At the end of 2002, the Ho District Assembly of the Volta Region handed over the districts' former government guest houses for renovation as a centrepiece of a regional nature-based tourism project. The costs for this must be raised from our programme activites. In order to achieve a large platform we have iniated the 'Friends of Gemi' project, which aims to support our development effort on the ground.

We would like to assure you that all donations given to us will exclusively be used for conservation and development efforts on the ground.
